Successful SEaM Camp

Thirty-eight "campers" participated in the Summer Engineering and Manufacturing Camp (Seam) held July 7-11 for students in grades 6-12. The camp provided an opportunity for hands-on experiences with electronics, motor controllers, mechanical drafting, manufacturing machining, and robotic automated systems.

Students designed “Battlebots” for the three competitions on the last day of the camp. Campers maneuvered through an Obstacle Course, played Bot Hockey, and competed in a Demolition Derby. During the week students also had the opportunity to visit a local manufacturing business.

The week of entertainment and educational experiences was sponsored by the Center of Excellence of Bemidji State University and Central Lakes College Staples campus.
