Central Lakes College's first state championship football season served as a launchpad for participation at the next level. Eight Central Lakes College football student-athletes have either signed NCAA Division II Letters of Intent or already transferred to four-year schools to play next season. Wide receiver Alex Leach and linebacker Caleb Forstrom will be at Minnesota State, Moorhead. Defensive back Karl Hunt signed with the University of Mary (North Dakota). Quarterback Colt Gatezmeyer and defensive back Lawson Starr will be at Southwest Minnesota State. Linebacker Roy Ash signed with the University of Minnesota-Crookston. Offensive lineman Brandon Sexton will be at Wayne State (Nebraska). Defensive back Dusty Parker signed with the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
