Softball April 14

In a Northern Division Minnesota College Athletic Conference doubleheader April 14 between the Central Lakes College Raiders and Rainy River Voyagers in Brainerd, each team won and each team lost. After claiming a 5-0 victory in Game One, the CLC Raiders watched as Rainy River rolled out to an early 7-0 lead in Game Two. After battling back to 7-6, CLC fell 9-7 in Game Two. The Raiders are now 12-8 on the year and 5-3 in Division play, while Rainy River is 8-6 overall, g-2 in league play. CLC's Ashly Erickson pitched a stellar first game allowing no runs on one hit and one walk. She struck out three. Tika Nicholas' two-run home run provided all the support Erickson needed, but Alicia Johnson finished 2-for-3 with a triple and a run scored. (Brainerd Dispatch photo)
