CLC’s Kari Frisch Receives National Award for Excellence in Online Learning

Central Lakes College instructor Kari Frisch recently received national recognition for earning the 2015 Distinguished eLearning Educator award. Only six faculty in total were recognized. Frisch was also one of two instructors from that group chosen to receive the ITC 2015 Award for Excellence in eLearning Outstanding eLearning Faculty.

The Instructional Technology Council (ITC) is a leader in advancing distance education. ITC's mission is to provide exceptional leadership and professional development in higher education to its network of eLearning practitioners by advocating, collaborating, researching, and sharing exemplary, innovative practices and potential in educational technologies. ITC tracks federal legislation that will affect distance learning, conducts annual professional development meetings, supports research, and provides a forum for members to share expertise and materials.

ITC members include single institutions and multi-campus districts; regional and statewide systems of community, technical and two-year colleges; for-profit organizations; four-year institutions; and, non-profit organizations that are interested or involved in instructional telecommunications.

Online learning at CLC helps offer flexible learning opportunities so students are able to achieve their educational goals. CLC is fortunate and proud to have Kari Frisch, faculty member of the speech department, as an online instructor. Kari’s accomplishments in teaching online include her creative and focused work at retaining students in her online courses at much higher rates than average. She has been featured in several publications and sought by schools to facilitate workshops for faculty on how to help online students be successful.
