The Central Lakes College men's basketball team finished its regular season at Grand Rapids Sat., Feb. 20 with a big win: 83-68, over the Itasca Vikings. It was CLC's 22nd win in 27 games. Leading the way was freshman Nash Faulk with 24 points (with 9 from a trio of long shots). Sophomore Erik Peeters added 11 points and 11 rebounds, freshman Nick Grewe had 14 points, and freshman Cody Hofmann 11. The 8th ranked Raiders play M State of Fergus Falls (19-7) at 6 p.m. in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference tournament at Minneapolis Friday. The state champ advances to the national tournament in New York. The CLC women finished with a hard-fought loss to Itasca, 85-76. Sophomore Cassie Pearson scored 21 points and ripped 19 rebounds to lead the Raider effort. Freshmen Trisha Wippler added 19 points and 14 rebounds, Brittany Gravelle (pictured)19 points, and Carlee Davich 11 points and 11 rebounds against the 20-7 Vikings. CLC, which played the last 5 minutes with just 4 players after 2 fouled out, ends with a record of 6 wins 19 losses, 5-9 in the Northern Division.
