Assist at FFA convention

An instructor and a student in the welding program at Central Lakes College in Brainerd recently assisted at the annual convention of the Minnesota Future Farmers of America at the University of Minnesota St. Paul campus. Mike Reeser, instructor, and Shantel Koering (shown), a CLC welding student from Fort Ripley, helped educate the high school students on the latest welding techniques and tools. About 500 FFA members tested their welding skills on the new Lincoln Electric VRTEX 360 Virtual Welding Trainer. This new tool is in use by the CLC welding program. Reeser evaluated the testing and reported that Kyle Kasper of Grand Rapids received the highest score at 94.
