About 1,600 Central Lakes College students enjoyed a day off Wed., Sept. 29, but they were still on campus in Brainerd and Staples. Student Success Day III offered them helpful workshops, a keynote speaker, free lunch, one-on-one visits with instructors, counselor confabs, drawings for prizes such as an I-Pod Nano, a talent contest, Win-It-In-A-Minute, and recreational competition in dodgeball and paintball during 2010 Homecoming Week. Attorney C.L. Lindsay brought his message of awareness and caution for users of Facebook and other public Internet postings with a presentation called "Your Internet Use Could Come Back to Haunt You!" Christine Mayer, a student at the Staples campus, won the grand prize, an I Pad.
