The Staples campus of Central Lakes College on Friday, April 29 hosted a Career Exploration Day for more than 200 students from area high schools. The students were allowed to choose three career areas to explore during sessions led by instructors, lab assistants, or students at the college. Programs featured were Communication Art and Design, Computer Technology, Diesel Technology, Heavy Equipment, Horticulture, Liberal Arts, Machine Trades, Medical Assistant, Natural Resources, Nursing, Photographic Imaging, Robotics/Automated Systems, and Videography Production. The Brainerd and Staples campuses were represented for these informational introductions to careers and the training that leads to them. Scheduled schools were Aitkin, Browerville, Bertha-Hewitt, Eagle Valley, Long Prarie-Grey Eagle, Parkers Prairie, Sebeka, Staples-Motley, Verndale, and Wadena-Deer Creek.
