The Child Development program at Central Lakes College sponsored Old-Fashioned Game Day on the Brainerd campus April 26. From 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in the Cafeteria Commons area, students supervised kite-making, Go-Fish, Slap Jack and other card games, Pick-up Sticks, Hi Ho Cheeri-O and other board games, Marbles, Kick the Can, Legos, Lincoln Logs, Hopscotch, Charades, Gunny Sack and Wheelbarrow races, and more. The Veterans Club provided root beer floats. Day-care children and the offspring of CLC students and staff enjoyed the variety of activities, and some of the mature guests remembered playing some of the old-fashioned games in a time before TV and the Internet.
