Sam Harting (left) pitched two complete games without giving up any earned runs as the Central Lakes College softball team finished its home schedule by sweeping Mesabi Range Community and Technical College, 6-0 and 6-1 in Thursday’s Northern Division doubleheader at Findorff Field. Sam gave up just six hits for the day while striking out five and walking three. Dani Thiesse and Steph Neugebauer each had doubles and an RBI for the Raiders. Steph also doubled in the second game and was 2-4. Ashley Zimmerman drove in two runs while going 2-4 and Trisha Wippler tallied two RBIs. “It was nice to end the home season on a positive note,” said CLC coach Greg Medeck, “and this keeps us in the running for the state tournament. The Raiders are one of five teams vying for three of the division’s spots at state. “Hopefully, this provides us with some momentum and we can keep playing well,” Coach Medeck added.
