With a double, triple and a home run Lindsey Fryer (left) led the Central Lakes College softball team to a sweep of Fond du Lac and avenged an early-season, non-Division loss to FDL. The Raiders jumped into second place in the Northern Division of the Minnesota College Athletic Conference Tuesday at Findorff Field. Sam Harting struck out four through seven shutout innings and added a double during a 7-0 win. Lindsey blasted a double in the first game as CLC scored all seven runs in the fifth and sixth innings. In the second game, she poked a double, triple and a home run. On the hill, Sam hurled another win, striking out three in a 9-8 escape. “This was big for us,” said Coach Greg Medeck. “To beat a very good team in both games is big. We picked up four points in the standings. We played really well and I’m really proud of the way we’ve been playing.” Dani Thiesse scored three times for the Raiders in the finale, including the game winner in the eighth inning. Division: CLC 7-3. Overall: CLC 11-7. Next: CLC at Northland, Thief River Falls, 3 p.m. Friday.
